Thoughts

I like the idea of illustrating the similiarities & differences- could we work that into some kind of tagline for the show? Maybe also play off of Brandon's initial designs that are very versatile saying something about our being versatile designers...etc.

I know we had talked about not having a "theme" but, personally, I would love to go all-out, and I think we could come up with a quality idea. From the food to what we wear to how we decorate the space it could be very enticing and entertaining--showing our personality as creatives. I also see the show as a fun celebration of our work and finishing this program.

Anyway, just some thoughts. We should hang out soon to throw more ideas around.

  1. On the "theme idea":
I've always been skeptical on the idea of having a theme. Once you set a theme, you're starting at the top of the pyramid and working you're way down instead of starting at the bottom and working up. But I don't think that is what Samir is suggesting here. I kind of see where he's going with it and I agree. We should all get creative and start throwing our personalities out there. Then we can find a "connection" that would tie the show together but allow us to differentiate ourselves at the same time. So I guess there could end up being an overall theme, but I don't think that should be included into the title of the show. A tagline perhaps.

  2. I think this is Ellen's post. She's all for the theme stuff. I'd be cool with doing a type-theme. We could make giant monogram shirts.

No weird, non-design/illustration related. Like the cross-dressing them that one class did. Not cool. Definitely lame.

  4. I am all about the theme stuff...but I know I'm outnumbered in that department...though I do think the few people forgot the cross-dressed designers, and they probably had a blast doing it. Nothing lame about that. Anyway, monogramed shirts would be great - we could wear them man promote ourselves and we could sell them beforehand and have other people help us advertise the show...yeaaa!
