Mock-up 1

name/tagline for show?

What were you guys thinking in terms of titles for the show, or in terms of an overall idea for the show? I was thinking we could throw "Come full circle" in there somewhere...you know, we're graduating, coming full circle, bringing our circles/disciplines together...coming together finishing up, etc...yeaaa!

Some ideas for the poster documentation/promotional video

We're going to video the process of drawing/designing/printing the poster. Very nice looking video quality. And in documentary style.

Example: We will be working on the poster and one of us will be pulled away to be "interviewed" or just to talk about the poster, or us, or our work…or whatever. And we'll video some closeups of the drawing while we're working on it…Here's the video I'm pulling inspiration from:

Chris Piascik from Quarter Productions on Vimeo.

At the show, I'm thinking of having two iMacs set up with one playing the "documentary" of the making of the poster, and one playing a constant stream of the "top-view" camera...and we will obviously have these videos (and pictures of the process) on our website in some way too.

Vanessa's idea adding to Brandon's/Samir's idea

Would the illustration/design objects, concepts, words, etc... include things that pertain to each individual in our senior class...or just general designy ...illustrationy stuff?

Brandon's new idea based on Samir's mark/idea

So here's a new idea, based on Samir's venn-diagram mark and concept. We could do a visual venn-diagram of illustration/design objects, concepts, words, etc... So basically Samir's idea, but done with illustration. Here are two examples (of my own work...it's all i got) of the look I'm thinking.

This idea could be the only element on the poster/materials with extremely minimal text. So we'd have this giant, ridiculously awesome illustration visually representing illustration/design printed on the majority of the poster, with some [necessary] type on the bottom. Don't have time right now to do a mock up, but I think you all can imagine.

Anyway, it seems fun, incorporates ill/gd, sort of ballsy (with the minimal text, mostly image poster), and most importantly it could look really good...of course... It would have to be done perfectly though to avoid looking "too hip" and taste-less.

This idea also feels a bit more appropriate for the [potential] guest speaker.
